Assistant Supervisor for the Affairs of the Dead at the Coroner's Administration at Jeddah Forensic Center, Ali Bawazeer, has blamed some foreign embassies and sponsors for delaying the shipment of the bodies of foreign workers to their home countries. He said corpses of foreign workers sent to the center don't remain more than two months, adding that embassies of the deceased workers usually address the deceased families to choose between sending the corpse home and burying it in the Kingdom. He said this is happening at a time Bawzeer said the center receives between 30 and 40 corpses of unidentified foreigners a year, adding that after a certain period of time, DNA specimens would be taken. After two months of enquires and investigations, if no one claims the corpse, the deceased would be buried in the Kingdom. – Okaz __
