King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has been awarded the prestigious “Barcelona Meeting Point” Prize for 2009 for his “judicious vision for the future” and the “positive spirit of initiative manifested in the eastblishment of King Abdullah Economic City.” Prince Saud Bin Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, the Kingdom's Ambassador to Spain, received the prize on behalf of King Abdullah at the inauguration of the International Symposium at Vera De Barcelona. “We have decided to award this year's prize to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in recognition of his efforts to establish the King Abdullah Economic City, which is an unprecedented development project,” said Jose Banus, Director General of the Barcelona Meeting Point Prize. “The King Abdullah Economic City is one of the largest developmental projects in the world in recent times, and the 18-member jury panel decided to award the prize to King Abdullah in view of this marvelous work.”
