Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) dominated TV commercial trophies after winning all the three spots during the final ceremony of Okaz Creative Advertising Award that held at Jeddah Hilton. Mobily has been awarded by Emir of Makkah, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal with the Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies for the TV ads that have been broadcasted during 2009 in Telecom category. David Murphy, Mobily's chief marketing officer, said “creative ideas developed with our Advertising Agency IMPACT BBDO in Mobily were major reasons behind his company success.” “We have creative minds that can shape ideas to fit our products and services” CMO said. Murphy also hailed the great attention given by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal who patronized the crowning ceremony. “Prince Khaled's support for Okaz Creative Advertising Award has given advertising and marketing sectors new angles in term of challenges to come up with new ideas beside its main role to encourage the Saudi talents,” Murphy expressed his happiness after the jury members announced that the agency that runs Mobily ads won all the first three spots, he also hailed the efforts played by Waleed Kattan, director general of Okaz Organization for Press and Publication. “It was a perfect initiative from Okaz to host and organize such competition that gathered its power from being the first of its kind in the Arab World” David added. Mobily topped the telecom TV ads after its (7ala) bundle came first while the TC ad of (Tijwali), a roaming service provided by Mobily, came second to win the silver trophy. Mobily also took the bronze for one of its advertisements that advised the company customers to take care of their batteries and not to pay attentions to call rates. Okaz Creative Advertising Award was classified based on different advertising categories including print media, television, billboard, and the Internet, Saudi talents, and direct advertisers.
