Why fear? I've been reading a lot of comments on the niqab bans in different countries and I'm sure it's just a matter of time before cities and states in the US will attempt to adopt this. The reasons behind these bans just doesn't make sense to me. Mostly it's stated that it's a security issue, and people need to be able to see a person's entire face. Well, if you look at men with a full beard and mustache, you can't see their entire face, and yet, I haven't seen anyone calling for a ban on facial hair. If you buy something or conduct any business over the telephone, by email or by postal mail, you can't see a person's face at all, but that doesn't stop anyone from doing business with people. If a woman is wearing a hijab or niqab in their home or in a car and calling or texting, no one questions what she is wearing. But if she steps one foot into a store, suddenly it's a problem. Why? Insisting that Muslim women not wear clothing that honors their beliefs isn't going to stop someone else from committing a crime. Non-Muslims are using fears of things they don't understand to control the actions of others. Nothing new there. Sadly, countries that promote freedom of religion usually mean it relates only to Christian religions. As a non-Christian, I've felt that discrimination myself. If we don't condemn all Christians for the actions of the Crusaders, Witch Hunts, Jim Jones or David Koresh then to condemn all Muslims because of the actions of the Taleban and Al-Qaeda is just simply narrow minded. Don't fear something because you don't understand it. Learn about it instead. – arabiamagick.blogspot.com Free Tibet? The Dalai Lama – not a fan of him – was not wrong when he said the largest group of (foreign) tourists are Israelis. They are! I've been up there to Dharamsala and the place is full of Israelis, as are a lot of tourist places in India like Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Varanasi. They head there to smoke up and forget what they did for three years in the army. What really pissed me off was the number of Zionists walking around in T-shirts saying: Free Tibet. I felt like grabbing a marker pen and scrawling, “and Free Palestinians too! This is total hypocrisy. Being all peace minded regarding Tibetans, but fascistic towards the Palestinians. – wakeupfromyourslumber.blogspot.com Judaization The Islamic-Christian Committee said on Thursday that huge sums of money were allocated by the Israeli occupation authorities for the judaization of the occupied city of Jerusalem. Dr. Hassan Khater, the secretary-general of the committee, pointed out that the Israeli budget for the fiscal year 2009-2010 included hundreds of millions of dollars that were purposely allocated to distort the Arab identity of Jerusalem and the surroundings of the Aqsa Mosque.
