The Saudi Arabian Motor Federation (SAMF) has offered its congratulations to Frenchman Jean Todt and his new team on their victory in the FIA presidential election in Paris Friday. Todt won the ballot against Finland's Ari Vatanen to replace Max Mosley as FIA President and the Saudi Arabian Motor Federation looks forward to working with Todt and his new management team on aspects of mobility, road safety and motor sport in the future. “We would like to congratulate Jean Todt on his success in the FIA election,” said Mishaal Al-Sudairy, President of the Saudi Arabian Motor Federation. “We believe that he can work successfully to fulfil the goals laid down in his manifesto and he will work in unity with the FIA family.” Al-Sudairy also offered his thanks and support to Jordan's Prince Feisal Al-Hussein. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Prince Feisal for giving me the opportunity to work as his deputy during the election campaign,” said Al-Sudairy. “I sincerely hope that Prince Feisal will continue to offer his patronage to mobility and aspects of motoring and motor sport in the Middle East.” Al-Sudairy also congratulated Sheikh Abdullah Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Motor Federation, on his appointment to the FIA World Council. Al-Sudairy also praised the efforts of Max Mosley during his 16-year tenure as FIA President. “We wish Max well for the future and thank him for his invaluable contribution to aspects of FIA business in his four terms in office, particularly his excellent work regarding aspects of safety, mobility and motor sport.” __
