The New Jersey Devils extended their unbeaten record on the road with a 4-2 win over neighboring New York Rangers in the NHL Thursday. Dainius Zubrus tipped in Zach Parise's soft shot 7:51 into the third period to notch his first goal of the season and put New Jersey ahead to stay. Goaltender Martin Brodeur, who had never beaten Rangers counterpart Henrik Lundqvist in regulation on the road in the regular season, made 29 saves to push the Devils to 4-0 away from home. Kings 5, Stars 4, OT: In Los Angeles, Michal Handzus scored 55 seconds into overtime to lift Los Angeles over Dallas. Handzus hammered a shot from the left side of the slot past goalie Alex Auld. The Kings' Anze Kopitar had his first NHL hat trick. Oilers 6, Blue Jackets 4: In Edmonton, Alberta, Dustin Penner scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season and added three assists in Edmonton's comeback victory over Columbus. Ales Hemsky also had a five-point night, finishing with a goal and four assists to help the Oilers rebound from a 4-1 deficit. Sam Gagner, Lubomir Visnovsky and Robert Nilsson added goals for Edmonton in its fifth victory in six games. Capitals 5, Thrashers 4: In Atlanta, Jeff Schultz, Matt Bradley and Chris Clark scored in an 88-second span of the second period to help Washington defeat Atlanta. Goalie Semyon Varlamov stopped 22 shots to help the Capitals win their third straight game. Washington's Eric Fehr and Alexandre Giroux had first-period goals. Coyotes 3, Red Wings 2, OT: In Glendale, Arizona, Adrian Aucoin scored two minutes into overtime and give Phoenix a win over Detroit. Aucoin took an outlet pass from Jim Vandermeer and fired a sharp wrist shot from the outer edge of the right faceoff circle that got past Chris Osgood's right skate. That came after Phoenix teammate Petr Prucha tied the game with 2:40 left in regulation. Lightning 5, Sharks 2: In Tampa, Florida, goalie Mike Smith won for the first time in nine months as Tampa Bay downed San Jose. Smith, who missed the final 32 games last season because of post concussion syndrome, made 32 saves. The Lightning's James Wright scored his first NHL goal. Predators 6, Senators 5, OT: In Ottawa, Shea Weber scored on a power play in overtime for Nashville, ripping a shot between Ottawa goalie Pascal Leclaire's pads. Weber also had a goal and an assist in regulation. Chris Phillips scored the tying goal for the Senators with 1.6 seconds left while Ottawa was playing short-handed and Leclaire was on the bench for an extra attacker. Flyers 4, Bruins 3, SO: In Philadelphia, Claude Giroux scored on a backhand-to-forehand move in the shootout to push Philadelphia past Boston. Canadiens 5, Islanders 1: In Montreal, the hosts won in regulation for the first time in 13 games dating to last season, beating New York.
