At least 25 persons died and 30 others wounded in three separate terrorist attacks in Pakistan while security forces killed nineteen terrorists in their ongoing operation in Waziristan Friday. The first suicide attack took place on the Grand Trunk Road near Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra, some 75 kilometers from Islamabad, where the bomber hit a security checkpost. Police said that a suicide bomber blew himself near the checkpost in the Attock district. The dead included three security personnel and four civilians. In another incident, at least 18 persons were killed when a bus carrying wedding guests hit a landmine in the sub-district Lakro of the tribal area of Mohmand Agency. Authorities said that militants had planted the landmine. The dead included women and children. Another attack took place in Peshawar where a bomb planted in a car was exploded through a remote control device in the Phase -II of its posh area of Hyatabad. The explosion occurred outside a restaurant. Gunshots were also heard after the blast. It was estimated that 40 kg of explosives were used in the explosion. In Waziristan, fighter jets and gunship helicopters also targeted militants' hide-outs in Kanigroon, Sam and Larma areas. The forces are facing a stiff resistance from the terrorists.
