Wahaj hits unbeaten ton

XI of Fatima Al-Aqqad Est. beat the experienced Kanoo Cricketers by 55 runs and Osfan-XI defeated Saliheen Cricket Club by 9 wickets in the first week matches of the JCA Premier Division morning matches.
The event which is sponsored by The Initial Landscaping Co.Ltd., is organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
Opting to bat first, new entrants Hijaz-XI piled up 244-1 against Kanoo. Hijaz opening pair of big-hitting Wahaj and Talha Qulani hit freely to set a record opening partnership of 130 runs. Wahaj was the most aggressive batsman as he smacked an unbeaten 131 from 57 balls with 15 fors and 6 sixes. His fellow opener and captain Qulani hammered a quickfire 69 in just 35 balls. The other notable contributor was tall Athar (25). Mansoor took the wicket of Talha by giving away 42 runs for Kanoo.
In reply, the Kanoo made 189-6. Junaid Khan was the highest scorer with 69. He was followed by Sami Khan (46) and Rehan Khan (30). Saeed Al-Amoudi with his slow off spinners took 2-32 while Naveed, Wahaj, Faheem and Kamran got one wicket each.
In the second match Saliheen, batting first, was all out for 123 in 15.4 overs against Osfan-XI. Irfan was the highest scorer with 42. Noor (16) and Ali (13) were the other main scorers. Najam took 3-12, Imran 2-17, Majed Butt 2-29 and Akbar Butt 2-24. In reply Osfan reached the target (126-1) in 9 overs. Akmal was the most successful batsman as he hit 82 runs. Kashif struck a quick 20. Ashfaque took one wicket.
