Faisal, Emir of Makkah, and Abdulaziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information will grace the awarding ceremony for the winners of the Okaz Creative Advertising Awards Tuesday night at the Jeddah Hilton with the attendance of officials, businessmen, advertising companies, and noted media figures. At the gala awards dinner, there will be an exhibition of all the participants' work, especially those that have been short-listed. The top three winners will get prizes during the event itself while the others will receive a certificate of participation. Okaz Organization for Press and Publication's Director General Waleed Kattan said Prince Khaled's support has given the competition a momentum to its local and international presence. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal had earlier patronized the launch of the competition website at www.okaz-caa.com The competition has also gathered its power from being the first of its kind in the Arab World, Kattan said. The awards were classified based on different advertising categories including print media, television, billboard, and the Internet, marketing blitz, Saudi talents, and direct advertisers. The jury has made its final selection of the winners who will be announced tonight. The jury meeting was headed by Saleh Al-Turki, member of the Board of Directors of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and also the head of the Region's Development Council. The meeting was attended by all jury members including Director General of Marketing and Institutional Communication at the General Investment Authority, head of the Trademarks Operation Sector at Procter and Gamble Co. Arabian Peninsula Rami Yousif Damanhouri, and the supervisor of the Advertising Workshop at the College of Arts and Humanities at King Abdul Aziz University Abdulbadi'a Atiyah. Three international creative advertising experts were on the jury board, including Assistant Professors at Dar Al-Hikma College Ludmila Armata and Kathryn Carlyle, and head of Media International Consulting Group in Paris Pascal Joseph.
