Al-Hilal goes top with win over Al-Ahli

Hilal shot to the top of the Saudi Zain Professional League table after beating Al-Ahli 2-1 in an away match here Sunday.
In the night's other encounters Al-Wehdah beat Najran 1-0, while Al-Fath downed Al-Shabab 2-1.
After Sunday's action Al-Hilal sits on top of the league standings with 13 points, followed by Al-Ittihad in the second on 12 and Al-Shabab in the third with 10 points. Al-Fath jumped to the fourth spot with seven points, while Al-Wehdah leaped to the seventh with five points.
Mohammed Al-Shalhoub put Al-Hilal in the lead in the 14th minute with Swedish Christian Wilhelmsson doubling the lead in the 30th. Hasan Al-Rahib pulled one back for Al-Ahli in the second half.
Unlike its rival, Al-Ahli players left noticeable gaps in the midfield and the defense which helped the Blues take lead.
Ahli coach made a couple of changes in the second half which helped improve the pace of the game. In the 63rd minute Ahli missed an opportunity to score when Sebastian's hit from outside the box missed the bar.
The final scores could have been very different had Ahli's Mansour Al-Naja'ai not blocked a number of good moves made by Hilal players.
Ahli's Mansour Al-Harbi was shown the red card when he brought down Hilal's Omar Al-Ghamdi outside the box in injury time.
The end of the match witnessed some confrontation between the rival teams' fans, who threw missiles at each other.
Elsewhere, Al-Wehdah beat Najran 1-0 at home. The goal came through Moroccan Youssef Kaddioui in the 70th minute.
In Al-Hasa, Al-Fath claimed three points after beating visitors Al-Shabab 2-1. Hamdan Al-Hamdan and Ahmed Al-Hadhrami were on spot for Fath, while Nasser Al-Shamrani scored from the spot for Shabab. The goalkeeper of Al
