A Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) report has revealed that the Kingdom's summer festivals attracted 10.3 million visitors who spent SR1.2 billion. The SCTA's Tourism Information and Research Center, which produced the report, said that surveys were conducted on 13 festivals in Jeddah, Riyadh, the Eastern Province, Hail, Taif, Madina, Najran, Al-Baha, Bureida, Unaiza, Al-Jouf and Al-Ahsa. Most visitors, the report said, came with families, although the number of visitors coming alone or with friends was higher by 45 and 33 percent in Najran and Riyadh, respectively.
