Passport Department patrols in Jeddah rounded up and deported a number of African women who made a habit of selling candy to schoolchildren in the early afternoon. The decision for their deportation has been based on reports by health inspectors that most of the items the African women sell to children are expired, which may cause great damage to the children's health. The campaign resulted in rounding up and deporting 50 African female vendors. Col. Muhammed Al-Sa'edi, Commander of the Jeddah Police Patrol Division, said most of the African women rounded up by the Passport patrols were Umrah overstayers. He reiterated the determination of the Passport authorities to curb this phenomenon. – Okaz. __
