Less than 24 hours from his release from prison, a 20-year-old man shot dead another man who was preparing for his wedding party the very next day. The tragic incident took place on Wednesday evening in Abu Mousa Al-Asheri District in Hafr Al-Batn. The ex-convict headed to the victim's house and found him sitting with a friend. The murderer quickly took out a machine gun and opened fire at the would-be groom, riddling him with bullets and leaving him in a pool of his own blood. Paramedics rushed the victim to the nearest hospital, but emergency doctors were unable to rescue him, and announced him dead soon after. The killer later turned himself in and handed over his gun to the police. Colonel Yousif Al-Qhttani, spokesman for the Hafr Al-Batn Police Department, said the victim was 27 years old. He added that the assassin confessed that he had killed the would-be groom over an old dispute. – Okaz __
