A number of Saudi businesswomen have described the reelection of Lama Al-Soleiman to the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as a “victory for all businesswomen”. Ulfat Qabani, member of the previous Board and Chairwoman of the Jeddah Council for Social Responsibility, said the presence of Saudi women on the JCCI Board of Directors was “not only a demand, but a necessity” with Saudi women representing “52 percent of the Kingdom's population”. Businesswoman Amani Abdul Wasae said: “It is no surprise that a woman is on the Board again as Saudi women have been taking up some of the highest posts in the state,” while fellow businesswoman Niraq Sadiq called for more work to help the progression of Saudi women.
