Prince Faisal Bin Khaled, Emir of Asir, performed the funeral prayer of martyr Amer Ahmad Al-Shuwaish Tuesday night, offering the condolences of the leadership to the martyr's family. Al-Shuwaish died as a martyr and “It is a merit of honor that every Muslim would seek,” Prince Faisal said. Father of martyr, Ahmad Al-Shuwaish Al-Oukasi, 62, retired prison guard, appeared strong Tuesday after hearing the news of his son's death, finding comfort that his son was killed defending his country. Ahmad Al-Shuwaish said he was proud of his son who was killed in the “field of honor.” “He lived as a hero and died as a hero,” he said of his son. “Despite my deep grief over the death of my son as I touch his body with my own hands, I feel joyful for the victory of our security men who killed two attackers and captured a third one to be handed over to justice,” he said. The martyr's brother said he last saw Ahmad over dinner Sunday night with the rest of the family at their father's house. After the dinner, he was called up to report to work and he immediately said his goodbye and left us “but this time it was forever,” the brother added. The martyr was married and a father of two, Yumna, 3 1/2 years old and Namar 2 years old. His wife is expecting their third baby soon. Martyr Al-Shuwaish and his small family shared his father's house as he could not afford a house of his own.
