Seabrook gives Blackhawks 6-5 OT win
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 14 - 10 - 2009

Brent Seabrook scored 26 seconds into overtime as the Chicago Blackhawks matched the biggest comeback in NHL history to rally from a five-goal deficit and beat the Calgary Flames 6-5 Monday.
Chicago fell behind 5-0 in the first period before overtaking the Flames, the team they knocked out of the playoffs in the first round last April.
By rallying from five goals down, the Blackhawks tied the NHL record for biggest deficit overcome, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The previous club record had been a four-goal rally.
Seabrook gathered the puck and shot it past Miikka Kiprusoff in the overtime and was mobbed by his teammates as the crowd at the United Center rocked.
Avalanche 4, Bruins 3: At Boston, David Jones scored a short-handed goal to lift Colorado over Boston.
Marek Svatos had a tiebreaking, power-play goal midway into the second period. Milan Hejduk and Scott Hannan also scored for the Avalanche.
Craig Anderson made 29 saves for Colorado.
Michael Ryder, Mark Recchi and Blake Wheeler each scored for Boston, which closed its season-opening homestand.
Kings 2, Islanders 1: At Uniondale, New York, Jon Quick made 28 saves, and Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty scored. Quick, who has played every minute in the Kings' first five games of the season, was rarely tested. Los Angeles has won four straight following a season-opening, 6-3 loss to Phoenix. Quick fell 1:55 short of his fifth NHL shutout when Matt Moulson scored his second goal of the season.
Rangers 7, Maple Leafs 2: At New York, defenseman Dan Girardi and Sean Avery both scored two goals as the New York Rangers beat Toronto for their fifth straight victory.
Devils 3, Capitals 2, SO: At Washington, Zach Parise and Jamie Langenbrunner scored in the shootout and New Jersey goalie Martin Brodeur stopped shootout attempts by Alexander Semin as Alex Ovechkin and the Devils beat Washington for their third straight victory.
Penguins 4, Senators 1: At Ottawa, Tyler Kennedy scored twice and Marc-Andre Fleury made 30 saves to lead Pittsburgh to a win over Ottawa.
Lightning 3, Panthers 2: At Tampa, Florida, Ryan Malone's rebound goal in the third period gave Tampa Bay a victory over Florida.
Coyotoes 1, Sharks 0, SO: At San Jose, California, Lauri Korpikoski scored a shootout goal to give Phoenix a shootout win over San Jose.
