Indian expatriate hangs himself DAMMAM – A 42-year-old Indian expatriate hanged himself at his home Sunday, police in Dammam have said. Officials said that the man was found hanged by a piece of cloth attached to the ceiling, adding that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. A work colleague who informed police of the body said that the deceased had been suffering from family problems. – Okaz/SG 3 confess to taxi axe attack By Abdul Khaliq Al-Ghamdi AL-BAHA – Police have arrested three persons suspected of beating up and hospitalizing a Bangladeshi driver after a fight over the charges of a taxi ride in Al-Baha last week. A police spokesman, announcing the arrest Monday of three persons who had confessed to last Wednesday's attack, said that one of the aggressors had struck the driver in the head with an axe. A second Bangladeshi who received minor injuries was also a target in the incident. The source of the argument was reported last week as a dispute between three Saudis and the Bangladeshi drivers over the charges of a journey between Al-Aqiq and Kara Al-Hai't. – Okaz/SG Cable thieves caught By Khalid Al-Jabari MADINA – A four-member gang of thieves whose theft of cables from the Saudi Electricity Company had led to several power cuts in Madina neighborhoods in recent months were arrested Saturday. The body, reported to police by a member of the public, reportedly shows no signs of having suffered aggression. – Okaz/SG Somali pickpocket held By Ibrahim Alawi JEDDAH – A Somali suspected of stealing Iqama residency documents and demanding money for their return has been arrested in the Al-Jami'a District here Sunday. The man was caught after pick pocketing a Yemeni resident of his wallet containing identification documents and calling his victim by telephone to demand money for its return. The Yemeni agreed to pay, and contacted police who arranged a sting. Investigators are trying to establish the extent of the thief's involvement in a number of similar crimes.
