The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) is to organize the first Saudi forum for productive families at the Laylaty Hall here on Oct. 24-25. King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, will patronize the forum. The forum will find ways and means to combat poverty and unemployment, development of cadres of productive families and assessment of their contribution to the national economy under an integrated institutional system. It will also help productive families participate in global competitiveness in both public and private sectors. Besides the JCCI, the two-day forum is being held with the collaboration of four ministries and a group of social experts and philanthropic activists. Five key issues will be discussed during the forum: organizational development, from dependence to independence, from the home to the world, financial spheres and cooperative bonds and alliances which support the family and private businesses. – SG Muhammed Abdulqader Al-Fadel, JCCI Chairman, said King Abdullah's patronage would have a favorable impact on the success of the forum and it will definitely achieve its noble mission. Such initiatives, he said, come to address economic challenges faced by productive families and identify the precise capabilities of the private sector.
