In line with directives by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to provide urgent relief aid to Indonesia to confront the humanitarian situation and provide relief to victims of the earthquake there, a Saudi relief plane left here for Jakarta Thursday. The plane carried about 73 tons of tents, rugs, blankets and food supplies. A massive 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck the island of Sumatra on Sept. 30 destroying villages and killing more than 1,000 people. Indonesian government officials have estimated that it will cost $600m to rebuild or repair all the buildings and basic infrastructure that have been damaged.
