Luke Donald shot an 8-under 64 at Kingsbarns Sunday to take a one-stroke lead over Rory McIlroy and Simon Dyson in the weather-delayed third round of the Dunhill Links Championship. Donald had nine birdies with just one bogey, at the 15th. McIlroy shot a 69 at Kingsbarns with three birdies on the back nine after an eagle, a birdie and three bogeys on the front and shared second place with Dyson, who carded a 4-under 68 on the same course. The final round for the leading players will be played Monday over the Old Course at St. Andrews, after the third round was postponed from Saturday because of high winds which made all three courses being used for the event unplayable. Donald had a 15-under total of 201 after rounds on the three courses. Michael Hoey, Darren Clarke, Richie Ramsay and Rafael Cabrera-Bello were tied third on 13 under. The winner of the $5 million event will receive $800,000. Kuchar, Piercy share lead Americans Matt Kuchar and rookie Scott Piercy shared a one-stroke lead after Saturday's third round of the Turning Stone Championship in Verona, New York, the opening event of the PGA Tour Fall Series. Kuchar shot five-under-par 67 and Piercy posted 66 to finish 54 holes for a total of 14-under 202 on a mild day at the rain-softened Atunyote course. Australian Rod Pampling fired a seven-under-par 65 to stand one stroke off the pace along with American rookie Leif Olson, who carded 68 for his 203. For the third successive day players were allowed to lift, clean and place balls because of the soft ground. Kuchar, who had a bogey-free round, is going for his first PGA Tour win since his maiden title at the 2002 Honda Classic. Fifty-six of the 75 players in the field bettered par in the third round, and nine players were bunched within four shots of the lead heading to Sunday's final round. Two strokes off the pace was American Nicholas Thompson, with compatriots Tim Petrovic, Jonathan Byrd and overnight leader Vaughn Taylor tied with Sweden's Fredrik Jacobson another shot back on 205. Mathias Gronberg of Sweden registered a course record-tying 64 to move up to 10-under-par 206, four strokes behind the co-leaders along with Australian John Senden. Ochoa takes lead In Alabama, defending champion Lorena Ochoa shot a 6-under 66 Saturday to take a three-stroke lead in the Navistar LPGA Classic, leaving 14-year-old American Alexis Thompson eight strokes behind. Ochoa, second last week behind Sophie Gustafson in California, had a 16-under 200 total on The Senator course at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail's Capitol Hill complex. She birdied six of her final 12 holes in the bogey-free round. The top-ranked Mexican star is winless in her last 11 starts. Sandra Gal (66) was second at 13 under, and Janice Moodie (68) and Brittany Lang (68) were 12 under. Michelle Wie (72) matched Thompson at 8 under.
