The Canadian Ambassador David Chatterson has invited Saudis to enjoy a taste of his country during the Canadian Food Festival opening Monday at the Al-Faisaliah Hotel. During October, the restaurants of Al-Faisaliah Hotel are offering a gourmet taste of Canada, featuring exquisite Canadian culinary delights, such as scallops, bison, elk, venison, berries, and of course, maple syrup. “Judging by the increasing number of visitors and students, Saudis have a strong and growing appetite for Canada” said Ambassador Chatterson. Over 17,000 Saudis applied for a visa in 2008, including some 7,000 students, and over 20,000 are expected to visit next year. “More and more Saudi students are choosing Canada for the quality of its education, the affordable cost of living, and its natural environment” he added.
