A man on his honeymoon died and his wife was seriously injured when their car collided with a cement mixer on a dangerous curve on Ardiyah-Mikhwa road, in the southwest of the Kingdom, Saturday. The husband, 20, was taken to the morgue at King Fahd Hospital in Baha and the wife, 19, was admitted in critical condition at the same hospital. A paramedic team was quickly at the scene of the accident but they were unable to save the man and he was declared dead on the spot. The road was closed to traffic for a few hours. The power of the impact cut the victims' car in two, and eyewitnesses said that dangerous overtaking and speed were the causes of the accident. The Filipino driver of the mixer was unhurt. The winding and narrow road in the dangerous valley has heavy daily traffic as it connects Abha and Jeddah through hundreds of towns and villages in the southwest region of the Kingdom.
