Laundry shops have stopped delivery of bed sheets and pillow cases to the Al-Laith Governorate Clinics Administration for failure to pay bills worth SR3,000, sources said. The clinics administration has blamed the sub-contracted company for the payment problem. “The administration cannot terminate the contract nor deduct the amount from the company's annual contract cost,” sources said. The company will be warned and the amount will be deducted from its annual contract cost, said Dr. Sami Badawood, Director of Jeddah Health Affairs Management. Clinics across Al-Laith area are housed in dilapidated buildings and suffer from a lack of staff and good health care. Patients and staff have been victims of blackouts as power generators often break down, a source said. Nearly 14 doctors have been terminated with no replacement, the source added.
