Nearly 120 workers constructing the Community College building of the Northern Border University went on strike Wednesday for non-payment of their wages for five months, said Mansour Al-Amer, the college project supervisor. The contracting company has failed to pay them and the workers have been promised to be paid in full within a few days, he said. The workers filed a report with the police about the late payment, saying that their demands were simple: full payment of their wages of five months before they resume work on the project. The workers also appealed to the university officials to have the contracting company pay them their wages in full. The police summoned the company representative and questioned him about the delayed payment of wages, giving him a deadline by which the problem must be solved. Okaz/SG __
