Under the patronage of Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister, Defense and Civil Aviation Minister and Inspector General, Saudi Arabian Airlines is to host the three-day 42nd General Assembly for the Arab Air Carrier Organization (AACO) here from Oct. 17. Abdullah Al-Ajhar, Assistant Director for media at Saudia said that Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz's patronage of the meeting mirrors the importance of the air industry in the Arab World. Khaled Almolhem, Director General of Saudia, will preside over the conference in which heads of Arab air companies will participate. “The conference will discuss the contemporary challenges facing the air transport industry. The meeting will see a number of work sessions for presidents and executives to discuss the challenges facing the air transport industry, according to current data and developments taking place in air traffic services,” he said. Al-Ajhar added that the meeting will also highlight common aspirations between airlines and passengers, and topics related to developments in the air transport industry. Al-Ajhar confirmed the participation of the President of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in the meeting. He said that the valued guest will give a speech on the air transport industry. He also pointed out that the Director General of the Arab Civil Aviation Commission (ACAC) would also take part in the gathering. Al-Ajhar added that many air transport experts, from inside and outside the Kingdom, were invited to the meeting. Earlier, the Director General of Saudia ordered the formation of a committee of high officials to arrange for the meeting in a way that reflects the company's important position among Arab air transport companies.
