The Ministry of Education has said that written approval from the General Administration for Private and Foreign Education must be obtained before Saudi students can be admitted to community and foreign international schools in the Kingdom. Abdul Rahman Al-Medairis, Director General of Education in the Eastern Province, said that many Saudi nationals registered their children with international schools to improve their English and other foreign languages, and added that foreign schools in the province had been notified of the move. Earlier this month, the Ministry of Education (MoE) approved English curricula for non-Arabic language and Islamic subjects in Saudi private schools that adopt accredited international education programs.
