A daily flight service will be available between Seoul and Doha, following Qatar Airways' increase in the number of operations at the end of this month. Moreover, Qatar Airways also announced Wednesday that it will begin nonstop service between its hub in the capital city of Doha and Houston on Nov. 10. The announcement comes about three months after Emirates began nonstop service between Houston and Dubai. Like Emirates, Qatar Airways will start with three flights a week, and plans to jump to daily flights in December. Emirates launched daily nonstop service in February. The 777-200 long-range jets will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The route connecting the two world energy capitals has long been rumored to be waiting only on the delivery of airplanes, and while Qatar Airways would not previously comment on unannounced plans, press materials indicate that the brand new 777-200 LR for the route is expected in early November. Qatar Airways opened its first routes to the United States last summer with New York and Washington, D.C., and plans to extend its reach in the US to other cities in the coming year, according to CEO Akbar Al-Baker. The Doha-based carrier recently said that it will increase flights between the two cities starting March 30, offering Korean passengers more options to a wide range of connecting flights to onward destinations. __
