Police in Jizan said they seized last week 30 blocks of hashish in the car of a Saudi man carrying two illegal immigrant passengers. The vehicle was also found to contain 24 bottles of liquor. Week-long inspections in the region also resulted in the detention of 4,416 Yemenis and 81 Africans in violation of residency and labor laws, as well as 165 Yemeni beggars. A single-vehicle haul of 1884 bundles of qat was also recorded.
