Professor Muhammad Yunus, Nobel laureate and founder of Grameen Bank, the first bank for the poor, has described the establishment of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) as a historic achievement with new perspectives of education and the future. Yunus, who has visited the university in Thuwal at the start of its first academic year, considered KAUST as a unique experience bringing together distinguished students of different cultures and races from more than 70 countries with a view of creativity in more than 11 areas of sciences and researches.
