The Ministry of Interior Wednesday called on citizens and expatriates to exercise caution and beware of some unscrupulous persons out cheating them. Their modus operandi, according to the ministry, is to pose as employees of a local bank and asking for private bank information for the “purpose of updating” the accounts and then embezzling money. The ministry said it has come to its notice that some citizens and residents had been exposed to this kind of fraud. The ministry warned all to take caution and not to give any bank account or personal information to any unauthorized person. Instead, the ministry said, all dealings should only be through local bank officials.
