A partially demolished commercial building in Al-Ajaweed District in southern Jeddah, poses a great danger to the lives of the people in surrounding areas. Ahmed Alghamdi, head of the media center in the mayoralty, said the building was ordered demolished because of violations of building regulations. Ahmed referred Saudi Gazette to Sameer Basabreen, head of the control and encroaching committee in the municipality, who maintained that his committee was only responsible for encroaches outside residential areas. He asked Saudi Gazette to call the Department of Encroaching and Building. Khalid Bar'aidah, its head, refused to comment on the issue and referred Saudi Gazette to the mayoralty's media center again.
