All the 213 passengers and 16 crew members of AI-829 flight were safe as the blaze was put out immediately, Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) officials said even as Air India derostered an aircraft maintenance engineer, pending investigation. Some of the passengers suffered bruises and scratches during the emergency evacuation via slides but they were treated at the airport, an Air India spokesman said. All the stranded passengers were later sent by another plane to Riyadh, the spokesman said.
