A qat smuggler who fled at high speed when requested to stop by police crashed his car killing his female passenger of Ethiopian nationality Thursday. The incident, which occurred on the Abu Areish to Sabya road when patrols noticed a suspicious motorist in a vehicle with a woman and child, also led to the driver and the child being taken to hospital after sustaining injuries when the car turned over. Police subsequently found nearly three hundred bundles of qat hidden in the vehicle.
