The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and Collaboration Management and Control Solutions (CMCS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement key project management and training-based solutions aimed at improving the skills and competencies of the next generation of Arab engineers. The newly forged partnership allows AASTMT to utilize essential CMCS Project Portfolio software such as Oracle Primavera, Hard Dollar, Deltek, Synchro, EcoSys and ADePT to help expand the scope of its offerings globally. CMCS will be introducing training and project management based software like CMCS Project Management and Primavera at AASTMT training facilities as part of the regional academy's efforts to produce more globally competitive and highly skilled Arab engineering professionals. The partnership also seeks to set up an Authorized Regional Exam Centre at the AASTMT venue for Project Management Institute (PMI) certifications like the Project Manager Professional (PMP) certificate, the Association for the Advancement Of Cost Engineering International (AACE) for the Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) certificate, the Engineering Management Certification International (EMCI) for the Certified Engineering Manager, the Construction Specifications Institute - Construction Education Network (CSI-CEN) and the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) for the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP). Dr. Mohamad Farghaly, director general, AASTMT, said “the Arab world is placing more concentration and focus on science and technology to help maintain our position as one of the world's fastest developing regions. AASTMT remains steadfast in its vision to produce the next generation of Arab professionals who are not only globally competitive but also world-class in terms of skills and talent. Our partnership with CMCS allows us to help achieve this goal with its implementation of strategic and modern training based software.” Bassam Samman, CEO and founder, CMCS, said “there is an increasing demand among engineers to learn new techniques and skills in their fields and as a result of this, academic institutions are now realizing the need to implement more project management and training driven software in providing essential training programs to their students. Our partnership allows us in helping today's generation of Arab youth to be the global professionals of tomorrow.”
