A car that crashed off an unrepaired stretch of road in the southern town of Balasmar Monday has prompted renewed calls for greater safety measures. The vehicle flew off the road at a section where the tarmac had collapsed into the hillside leaving a gaping hole in the roadside. The driver was taken to a local hospital while residents have renewed calls for speed bumps, steel barriers and warning signs to prevent motorists unfamiliar with the condition of the road suffering a similar fate.
