Dr. Abdul Aziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, has said that the doors of his ministry's are open for Saudi women to take up the highest possible posts. “The old view of women as only fit for teaching has changed,” Khoja told Al-Hayat newspaper Sunday. “Women who have the right abilities and vision can take up any post.” The minister said that despite women's relatively recent introduction into the media they have “made their presence felt”. “Many women have played pioneering roles in the development of television and radio,” Khoja said. The minister's remarks are in continuation of those made by other senior ministers and officials vis-a-vis a greater role for women in the development of the Kingdom.
