The Yemeni Aal Talib tribe has put an end to a dispute with distant relatives across the border in Najran over a murder that took place 13 years ago in the Saudi region. A thousand tribesmen and tribal sheikhs arrived at the house of the victim's family in the Najran district of Al-Fahd Thursday requesting his brother to pardon the killer while promising to adhere to any action he saw fit. The reconciliation moves convinced the bereaved brother to offer a pardon, but on condition of payment to the tune of SR1.2 million. A further session of pleading and haggling brought the figure down to SR500,000, reportedly to the satisfaction of all.
