Saudi Arabia, the world's second largest palm date producer, is planning to set up an electronic exchange for dates in 2010, Al-Eqtisadiah daily reported Thursday, citing government officials.?? The Kingdom has 141,000 hectares and 21 million palms producing 884,000 tons of dates per year. Its annual production is expected to reach one million tonnes next year.
