Ramadan is the month of the Qur'an. We read the Qur'an and pray the night prayer. In the last 10 days, people pray all night, as one of those nights is the night of power – the Laylat-ul-Qadr. If you get that night, you get a lot of reward. There are only two months that have Eid and Ramadan is one of them. We have to be good in Ramadan and give charity to the poor because the reward is increased. Ramadan shows us how poor people feel and we can be like them as we do not eat any food from sunrise to sunset. I like to open my fast with dates and water, because dates are the Sunnah and water quenches my thirst. I look forward to Eid because after fasting for such a long time, it's nice to eat anything you want. Ramadan is special because it's the only month in which we fast the whole month and in which the Qur'an was revealed. At the end of the month, we celebrate Eid. I get up early in the morning to go for the Eid prayer. Then I come home to open my gifts. I love Ramadan! – SG Children can contribute on any Islamic topic during Ramadan by sending their write-up and picture to [email protected] with “Islam page” in the subject line. __
