The Kingdom's annual production of dates is expected to reach one million tons by next year, the head of the Saudi Date Palm Society has said. Waleed Al-Afaliq said the landmark figure was made possible by the Al-Ahsa region's production with its 30,000 holdings on an area of 10,000 hectares and its three million palms enabling the region to up its production in the coming period.
