Authorities in Jizan destroyed Sunday some 900 bundles of the banned leaf qat seized from three smugglers, one of whom managed to escape arrest, when their vehicle was stopped by border guards. The driver of the car reportedly fled on foot before investigators discovered the illegal cargo hidden in the bodywork of the vehicle.
