Saudi ambassador to Pakistan Ali Bin Saeed Awadh Asseri has met with speaker of Pakistan s national assembly Dr. Fehmida Mirza on Friday. During the meeting, Dr. Mirza emphasized that her country attaches great importance to its relations with Saudi Arabia and both countries have great understanding and identity of views on global and regional issues. Mirza said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have been bound by eternal ties of brotherhood, religion, history and culture. She noted that Islam is the religion of peace and tolerance and it denounces all kinds of extremism and terrorism in all their forms. She praised the continued support provided by the kingdom to Pakistan in various economic sectors. For his part, Asseri said that the government of Saudi Arabia supports the current ties with Pakistan by enhancing interaction between the leaders and the people of two brotherly countries. He emphasized the need to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries, noting that the kingdom always supports Pakistan on regional and global forums. The ambassador stressed the need for spreading the true message of Islam through the media and for eliminating misunderstanding about the Islamic world.
