The Traffic Department in different regions of the Kingdom has moved to tow away cars offered for sale from the streets. Field committees are carrying out tours of the districts and public parking lots to look for violating cars. Maj. Ali Al-Zahrani, spokesperson of the Eastern Province Traffic Department, said implementation of the decision has actually started in the Eastern Province cities. Al-Zahrani made it clear that cars are not towed away before informing the owner. He said wheels of parked cars not hindering traffic flow are locked. But those hampering traffic flow and have been parked at the location for a long time are towed away to verify if they are wanted for security reasons or criminal offenses.
