Othaimeen, Minister of Social Affairs, at the launching of the Al-Wadad Charity in Jeddah Thursday. Al-Othaimeen warned charities that while financial support was a sign of trust in their work on the part of the authorities, they should not rely on money from the Ministry of Social Affairs. “If charities rely on money the ministry gives them then there's no need for the charities to exist,” the minister said, urging charity organizers to be more creative in finding resources and getting their message across to the public.
