The long wait was over for the First Telecom ABB team keglers as they clinched the FBGR-Riyadh International School (RIS) Saturday Family Bowling League title here recently. The league was sponsored by Riyadh International School (RIS) and organized by the Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR) and supported by the ABS-CBN The Filipino Channel (TFC). First Telecom ABB mentored by Glenn Espiritu and supported by Sajeevan, General Manager of First Telecom, is composed of Atoi Ramos, Ariel Feliciano, Rey Pompa, Louie Laguardia, Mel Solas, Larry Baleros, Chito Alindayu, Fe Divinagracia and Betsy Costumbrado. For their feat, they won a cash prize for SR6,500, a team trophy and individual trophies. Landing the second spot were the keglers of G.I. Joe's. Captained by Buddy Balisi, the team members included Doy del Moral, Rico Feria, Richard Feria, Cas Encila, Fareed Aquino, Esther Melgar and Cynthia Bacala. G.I. Joe's received SR3,500 cash prize, along with the team and individual trophies. Mitsubishi Elevators, managed by Willie Ortega and Joe Ligon, secured the third spot to bag the cash prize for SR2,000 and the tropies. Its team members included Jett Cabana, Ferdie Ramos, Efren Abuyo, Rolly Dejucos, Bernie Magbag, Pao Feria and Vicky Vitug. Castrol-Alkhorayef Lubricant Company, under the helm of Onar Garcia, placed fourth and went home with a cash prize for SR1,500 and a team trophy. Samba Financial Group of Mike Benito finished 5th and was awarded a cash prize for SR1,000 along with a team trophy. Other standings: 6th – Karambola, 7th – D'Educators, 8th – Hill International, 9th – Conor Express Cargo, 10th – Riyadh International School (RIS), 11th – Marnny's Bowlers, 12th – Parekoy, 13th – The Manila Bistro. The High Game Scratch and Handicap award went to G.I. Joe's and the High Series Scratch and Handicap honor went to First Telecom ABB. In individual awards, the High Game Scratch award went to Leo Mabunga, while the High Game Handicap honor went to Atoi Ramos, and the High Series Scratch and Handicap title went to Atoi Ramos. The MVP award was picked up by Atoi Ramos and the Most Improved Player honor was won by Edwin Nunez. Elite Champion – Rico Feria, 1st runner-up – Fareed Aquino, and 2nd runner-up – Sonny Alviso. The champion and runners-up received SR1,000, SR500 and SR250 and trophies. Nitz Urrutia, RIS representative and the FBGR officers awarded the prizes to the winners during the prize-giving while Pastor Rodel Canda emceed the affair. __
