During the first half of the current fiscal year 1430 Hijra, the Department of Contracts and Procurement at Jeddah Municipality has signed 71 contracts with national companies and establishments for implementing several developmental projects. Tariq Abbas Jamal Abbas, Director General of the Municipality's Administrative Affairs Department, said the projects included maintenance of streets, bridges, tunnels for solving the problem of traffic congestion, development of lighting, flood and rain water drainage and maintenance of public utilities. He noted that contracts have been signed with contractors in accordance with strict conditions to ensure the good quality of work regarding maintenance of streets leading to Makkah and Madina.
