Twelve young Saudi women who completed high school and are presently unemployed will complete a workshop “How to Start Your Own Business from Home” this weekend, and will hopefully get assistance to start their own enterprises. The workshop is being organized by the National Commercial Bank, Social Services Department, in cooperation with the Asharqia Chamber's Businesswomen's Center. The workshop is being conducted by Lima Al-Ajaaji, an expert trainer from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). “The young women trainees will complete the two-week workshop and will hopefully be given the support to establish their own business in their home,” said Nora Abdullah Al-Qahtani, head of the Asharqia Businesswomen's Center. The training started July 25 and will end on Aug. 8 with a graduation ceremony at the center. The workshop topics included defining business and developing business ideas, the special environment of working from home, self-development skills, basics of success for working from home, simple feasibility studies, making a business plan, successful business management, market studies, and sales and marketing skills. The National Commercial Bank, which has been organizing workshops on entrepreneurship as part of its social responsibility program, will support the young Saudi women by extending to them easy loans to start their business.
