Published in The Saudi Gazette on 03 - 08 - 2009

Jay Perez and Myrna Diaz totaled 640 and 656 to lead Tough Guyz to back-to-back victories over PS-Royal Strikers in the 10th week and over Cobra Team in the 11th week of action in the FEDBG-Tuesday Night Bowling League 8th conference at the Ice Land Bowling Center here.
Solidly backed by May Lourdes' 633 with two explosive games of 245 and 222, Perez blasted games of 199, 225 and 216. Such prolific performance pinned down opponents and inspired teammates for balance shares that led to 20-0 card on settlement of 3,453-3,329 built from sets of 1,060-1,011, 1,246-1,180 and 1,147-1,138. Diaz shared 574, LJ Laderas gave 557, Faisal Relativo 550 and Manny Tibay 499. Jun Pilipi?a defended Royal Strikers best with 622.
Kanny Powder Milk was awarded to Perez for emerging as the lady Bowler of the Week with Yasser Hokbi joining her for the men's honor. Hokbi won the honor for scoring 646 (193, 236 and 227) on Coral Beach's games against Virus team.
Voi Ycong-captained Virus edged Coral Beach 11-9 on the overall team output of 3,379-3,374. Susan Patayan led Virus with 603, while Bader Bukhare supported Hokbi with 613 for Coral Beach.
Other 10th week winners were Cobra over ERC at 16-4; Scorpions blanked Friendster and Pin Slammers-KP over Pride of Luvenor 13-7.
Tough Guyz was up for another solid win the following week as Diaz led a 16-0 assault in the first two games against Cobra. Though weakened by the opponents' blusterous thrusts, Cobra unleashed its venom and evaded empty belly on last game scratch of 1,164-1,136 on the powerful 237 ditch of Ray Thompson. Nevertheless, Tough Guyz got the 18 points on sets of 1,067-949 (1,171-1,024), 1,071-1,013 (1,175-1,088) and 1,240-1,239 for an overall score of 3,586-3,351. Once again Tough Guyz hit the spotlight as Diaz was recognized as Kanny Bowler of the Week for her games of 230, 212 and 214.
Nesma Trading Co. Ltd. Marketing Executive Rey del Rosario awarded Diaz a 900gm Kanny Powder Milk can with Nabeel Sadawi receiving the same prize in the men's division. Sadawi recorded 3-game series of 668 on ERC's 14-6 win over Virus.
Other scores that week were: Scorpions 18-2 against PSKB; Friendster 13-7 against Coral Beach; and PS-Royal Strikers 12-8 against Pride of Luvenor.
