Green area, Faqih said, also came under discussion with a specialist company. He said the presentation and the integrated study covered environmental planning, design, financial, marketing and economic aspects of the projects. The green areas will cover a big chunk of the eastern Corniche and the entire belt will be irrigated with sewage lake water after tertiary treatment. Faqih hoped that the study would be completed by January next. The project, he said, includes recreation, sports and education facilities built as per Saudi and international specifications to have a sustainable, clean environment. Treated water from the sewage lake can be utilized in the creation of an artificial lake, the mayor said. There is also a plan to construct housing complexes to be offered on easy installments.
