A charitable donation of a thousand readymade garments for the stranded Pakistani children in Bangladesh was presented by Sohail Siddiqui, owner of Poshak store in Jeddah, in a ceremony organized by the Pakistan Repatriation Council (PRC) last week under the patronage of Syed Riaz Hussain Bukhari, president of Pakistan Peoples Community – KSA. The contribution was received by Abu Farhan Siddiqui, representative of Muslim Welfare and Development organization (MWDO). PRC convener Syed Ehsan Ul Haque appreciating Siddiqui's gesture and the MWDO, said there are very few organizations that are working for stranded Pakistanis, such as, IDB, MWL , IIRO, and the US-based OBAT Helpers and FOH. “But they are not able to meet even 10 percent of the needs of the stranded Pakistanis,” he said, urging charity organizations, namely, Eidhi Trust, welfare wings of MQM, Jamaat-e-Islami, Tehrik-e-Insaaf, etc., to contribute to the cause of the stranded Pakistanis. The PRC also urged Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minster Yousuf Raza Gilani and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to act in order to reactivate the Rabita Trust, start the process of repatriation and rehabilitation of the stranded Pakistanis and to implement the PRC proposal of the self-finance scheme for the employment of the stranded Pakistanis in the Kingdom. Others who spoke during the function include Abu Farhan, Riaz Bukhari, and Seth Luqman. Other guests included: Zamurrad Khan Saifi of Pakistan Writers Forum, Eng. Akhter Siddiqui of Engineers Welfare Forum Jeddah (EWFJ), Mohammad Kauser, Amjad Hashmi, Abdul Hafiz, and others.
